Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers and a very happy Tuesday to you. So this week on the daily pep, we're taking a bit of a sea nautical theme. And today, I wanna talk to you about your non negotiables. AKA, the things that anchor you when things are going really well or are going really shit. So for all of us, we tend to have different things that just help us. But one of the ways we can massively over complicate it is by comparing it to what other people do or having this kind of fixed idea of what it should look like. And it can get really frustrating because something that really helps us can turn into something that we feel has to look good to other people, that is shareable, and has to sound good when you tell others. But here's the thing.

Some anchors are rusty as fuck, and they still work. Some of them have been around a long, long time. They don't look beautiful, but they are seriously efficient. And the same goes for your own non negotiables and the things that anchor you in your own life. It can be all too easy to think that you've got to have this set of fabulous romanticized new routines. And while sometimes that can actually be really helpful and motivating for getting you out of a slump, during times where it feels like you have no time at all and it is all stress and shit on toast, it's not a very fair demand to put on yourself to then come up with all these extra things to do. So as you listen today, I just want you to have a think about what are your own anchors in your life. There will probably be between about three to five things that are absolute nonnegotiables to you and you feel are pretty essential to your life.

That could be things like getting outside, having some social time, taking five minutes for yourself in the morning. Ultimately, it matters a lot less what they are as opposed to the likelihood and the ease of doing them. So as we're going down our nautical themed rabbit hole this week, I want you to think about what anchors you, what really helps when the waters get choppy, and how can you make them even easier to do. Don't judge yourself on what comes up. Fuck being Instagrammable. And here's to knowing yourself best. And because I really did love my accidental pun last time, I thought we would end with an intentional pun which is don't give in to peer pressure. And believe me, there are plenty more where they came from. I'll see you tomorrow.
