363: You get to harvest the crops

We spend so much time focusing on working hard and planting the seeds, that it's hard to even realise those seeds started growing. Today we're taking a good look at our crops!

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. Now if you're someone like a lot of us that finds it hard to acknowledge just how much you've done and to actually enjoy the outcomes of your hard work, this one is for you. So today, I just wanna break up this myth that we have that everything always has to be a struggle. Now we have all worked on different projects of different sizes, and often it comes to a point where things start to feel a bit easier. Maybe you start to get into flow. Maybe things just feel that bit less hard, and you almost look up suspicious as if to say, what's going on? Because we are just so used to everything being pretty hard work. I know we've talked about moving the goalposts a lot on here before, and I think that's something we all do. And I think it can be really uncomfortable when we're actually getting better at something, and it actually just feels like it's going okay.

I think it even gets to the point with a lot of us where if it's feeling easy, then we assume that we can't be doing it right. But today, I really wanna flip that on its head and reframe it a bit. What if when things feel easy, it's not because you're doing them wrong, but it's because you're sowing the seeds you planted a long time ago, and you're starting to reap the rewards. Here's the thing. I think we can be so cool to ourselves in terms of when we're starting a project, we're looking at how far we've got to go. When we're at the end of a project, we're looking at all the mistakes we've made. And when, God forbid, we're actually enjoying the project, we're wondering what is it that we're doing wrong that lets us enjoy it. But what if we're doing nothing wrong and what we're seeing is the results of all the hard work we put in along the way? And the reason we're starting to enjoy it is because we've put that practice in, because we've put those hours in, and we actually get to enjoy the dance because we're not focusing so hard on what all the different parts of our body is doing.

So if you have a moment this week where you feel ease and it feels uncomfortable, think back to this. You are always sowing seeds, and seeds get to be harvested too. And you get to enjoy that process, which is your hard work, what you did, what you put in, And that is something to be celebrated, not questioned. So have a fabulous rest of your Thursday. I can't wait to be back with you tomorrow. And remember as always, everything changes when you believe you matter.
