Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday for you. So today, I wanna start with, and it is this. What is something that you have been beating yourself up over that you've been trying to get yourself to do that realistically, probably isn't gonna get done and you can just let go of?

For so many of us, we are perpetually carrying so many things that we probably couldn't do them all even if we were Superwoman. Some of this shit is important. Some of it is not that important. Some of it should be delegated, but we can't delegate it. And some of it just isn't gonna get done.

And that is okay because when we look at all of the things that we are expected to keep on top of at any one moment, It is not only absolutely unsustainable, but also super unrealistic. And those things that tend to fall into the category of we feel guilty because we haven't done them, we're not doing them, and we're probably not gonna do them, They take up a huge amount of brain space. They are always sat there waiting for us to turn the TV on or open up a good book or be really busy or really stressed to remind us of their existence. And sometimes we just have to ask ourselves, At what cost? At what cost is it worth carrying around, continually beating ourselves up about it? This is making peace with the fact that we haven't done it, we're not gonna do it, and that's okay. So whatever came up for you as You're listening to this. I really invite you to look at what would need to happen in order to let go of it. Is it a case of simply forgiving yourself for not doing it and intentionally choosing not to do it? Is it about putting on a timer for 10 minutes, seeing what you can get done, and just calling that good enough? Or is there another creative or playful way that you can just experiment with it. I think so many of us carry around so much shame about things that we haven't done and things we haven't got around to.

And I also have this fantasy that everybody else is always on top of shit and has their shit together, And it is simply not true. And from my experience at least, the people who most look like they've got their shit together Spend an absolutely exhausting amount of time making it look so. And, again, at what cost? So that is my challenge for you to start this week. Have a think, and here's to reclaiming back some of that precious brain space. I'll see you tomorrow.
