Losing your enthusiasm can feel fucking scary.
Then add on the frustration that comes with that and it adds a whole new level of exhaustion. And then when you add on the amount of pressure you put on yourself to get everything figured out right now? Well, it’s not a fun place to be - and I know that place only too well. As creatives and multi-passionates, we tend to thrive on the excitement of new ideas and creative projects, and when it feels like all hope is lost, it’s a dark place indeed.
But the good news is you’re far from alone, many, many others have been where you are and made it out the other side, and while right now it might feel like you’re going to be stuck here forever, this is only temporary. You will feel energised and excited again.
Here’s one of the biggest things I’ve learned along the way about when you’re in this place: while pushing yourself harder and just trying harder feels like the thing you most need to do, sometimes it’s the opposite. As counterintuitive as it sounds, the time when you most need to take a break is usually when you most feel unable to.
