Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Friday to you. So to wrap up this week, I wanted to dive a bit more in this idea of having fun and bringing more joy into our lives. I've shared before on the daily pet that it can be really hard even finding out what fun looks like for you because there are many different life events that we go through where we can end up feeling a bit lost And we just don't feel that connected to that part of yourself.
So I have some weekend homework for you, and it shouldn't be too much of a chore. And the idea is to write yourself a fun or a joy list. Based on the things that you already have access to, you already have or wanted to check out. Because I know for so many of us, we have books that we want to read. We've got films. We want to watch got activities we wanna try. We've bought all the supplies for a new craft project that we wanted to start ages ago. And amongst the hustle and bustle of life, we just lately forget about them, or they just sit in the drawer, almost taunting us. And when we do have time for ourselves, often we don't have the energy to remember ordered this stuff. We don't even think about this stuff, and it is all too easy simply to pick up phones because it is the easiest thing to do.
So either on a post it note somewhere near your desk or on the notes app on your phone, See if you can start just recording different things that you wanted to do. You could write a booklist, a film list, you could write down the different art supplies you've got, as a reminder, if you're a bit of a color coder and categorizer like me, You could even categorize them by how much energy they're likely to require of you so you can easily pick something on a day. you could also take this off your phone, print it out as a list, and cut it up, and put it into a jam jar. So next time, when you attempted to reach for your phone, but you want a more joy in your life. At the very least, you've got some alternative suggestions. So if you are intimidated, the idea of writing a joy list know that you are absolutely not the only one, and it does not have to be a perfect list. It does not have to have dozens dozens of things on it. It could be a bit more of an experiment list. And remember, the things on it only need to work for you. If your idea of fun looks like going through your bookcase and organizing everything in color order so you get a nice rainbow, you do you. And that to me sounds like a perfect Saturday night in.
So have a fabulous weekend, see if you can do something joyful start your joy list and remember that everything changes when you believe you matter. I'll see you on Monday.
