Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. You're listening to the Daily Pep, which is the only daily podcast for creative and multi passionate women. And today we're diving into something that we all struggle with, and that is the fear of the blank page. Now, this could be quite literal if you are a writer or an artist, or maybe it's starting a new project or starting some kind of new endeavor, which on one hand feels really exciting, but on the other hand feels pretty terrifying. Now, whether it's literally a blank page or not, it's fair to say it can be pretty overwhelming. The idea of starting with nothing can leave us feeling pretty much just stuck and it can take away any sense of progress and just stop us in our tracks and really put a dampener on our momentum. So today I want to offer you an antidote to that and I want to give you a question that I think will help the next time you're facing a blank page, the next time you have no ideas, or the next time you feel uninspired and need a bit of that momentum back. And the question is this.

What do you wish existed in the world? What is something you would love to see more of? What's something that isn't talked about enough? What is a story that you would love to see in the world? What is one thing that you just crave, that you just can't get enough of or that just simply doesn't exist? Because there will always be people who are after the very things you crave? So much of the time we think that we're facing our struggles alone, but the truth is that whatever you're struggling with or whatever you wish existed in the world, there are other people craving the exact same thing. So many of the things that you listen to, you watch, you read, or you look at, they're created with this very question in mind. I know I created the Daily Pet because it was the one thing that I craved and the one thing that I wish existed. I to help me keep going as a creative and multi passionate woman. The things you wish existed in the world often say a lot about you, and often they're things that only you can do. You get to make it as you as possible. You get to have fun. You get to inject your humor, your stories, your experiences, and the combination of all of those things and your skills and your strengths that combine in a way that means they are completely unique to you.

So the next time you get stuck, have a think about what you wish existed. And then whatever medium you create with. Go make something like we were talking about yesterday. Making things doesn't have to be this huge momentous thing, and the thing that you wish existed in the world doesn't have to be this huge purposeful thing that saves the planet. It can be something that you wish existed that would make you laugh. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. It doesn't have to be the final thing you create. It can just be a great jumping off point.

It can be really simple and it can be really tiny. But use this as a starting off point and just see where it takes you. And I can't wait to see what you create. As always, you can reach me over on Instagram egkisak or you can email me@megathumbingbirdlife.com while sometimes it might take me a bit longer than I'd like to respond because I'm a one woman band, please know that you will get a response and I love hearing from you. Have a fabulous day, Daily Peppers, and I can't wait to see you back here tomorrow.
