Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. Now, I don't know about you, but I am really, really good at taking something that was quite small, turning it into something that is huge, and then putting it off and feeling really shit about it. And it starts that whole spiral, which I think so many of us are familiar with, that whole feeling shit about the fact that we feel shit. And it can really start us going down some massive rabbit holes which are full of bullshit where we're believing we're lazy, that we've never achieved anything, and we're just being really, really hard on ourselves. So today I figured we could just nip that in the bud by just doing that tiny thing that has got enormous. Chances are there is something that is pretty small that you need to do, that you've been putting off for a while, that lives in a part of your brain that just doesn't shut the fuck up. And because it has lived there maybe for longer than you'd have liked, and because it has become one of your dreamshitter's prized possessions, it can be really daunting.
And it becomes so much bigger than it actually is. We talk a lot here on the Daily Pep about compassion and self kindness and giving ourselves grace. And one of the kindest things that we can actually do for ourselves is to just go and do the tiny fucker. While it might not be pleasant at the time, and while we might be seriously beating ourselves up about how long it took us to do, especially when we realized that the thing didn't really take that much time at all, what it does do for us talking about compassion is it frees up a bit of our brain. Because, goodness me, we all have enough going on in our heads that we don't need to be haunted by tiny fuckers. So whatever it is that you've been putting off, and no matter how long you've been putting it off, and there is absolutely no judgment here, go do the fucker. Go do it right now, and both your present and future selves will thank you for it. You've got this. You can do it. So go do it. And I'll see you tomorrow.
