1520: Your flame is always there

Today we’re celebrating finally leaving another January behind, and tending to our spark.

Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So last week on the DailyPep, we were talking around getting your spark back. And for Friday's reprise, it was all about making your mark and how sometimes it feels like you're making your mark with a Sharpie and sometimes it's going to feel like making it with a really light pencil. And I think there is such a crossover there with your spark. Sometimes your creative life, your personal life, it will feel like it is roaring in a really good way and the flame will be really strong and other days it will be barely noticeable. And I think one of the most important things to remember is that this is actually really normal and is part of being a human. It's a part of going through the seasons both literally and internally. And even though I know it's not as easy as this, we would have such less of a hard time if we could give ourselves less of a hard time about it.

I know that's a bit meta. So as we kick off a new week and as we are finally out of January and as we're approaching late winter and some early signs of spring are arriving, I want to remind you that your flame is always there, even if it's on the lowest setting, and that it is never, ever selfish to tend to your own flame. And your spark may simply come back in a different way than maybe you expected. A bit like at this time of the year, we start noticing the signs for spring. Be curious in your own life of signs that your own spark is coming back. Remember that it is very rarely linear and that is part of the process. And sometimes a lot can come from small things. I know I've got this small pecan waffle pumpkin-y candle from Bath and Body Works.

It is small, but my goodness, if I light it for more than five minutes, it gives me a headache because it is that strong. So remember that small things can have a big impact. Your flame is always there, even if it is tiny. And if you have been curious about joining my latest program, the Spark, and you want to reconnect with yourself and your spark and come home to yourself without abandoning everybody you love, burning everything down and burning out. We get started tomorrow, so now is the time. You can find out more by going to therebelrousers.com/thespark and I would love to see you there. It's going to be really special. So here's to tending to your own flame and I'll see you tomorrow.
