591: What would success look like for you right now?

It's so easy to get caught in thinking what failure would look like, or imagining the worst case scenario. But today we're coming at it from a different angle.

Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Tuesday to you. You're listening to the Daily Pep, which is the only daily podcast for creative, multi, passionate, unconventional, and frankly, fabulous women who want to get out of their own way, get shit done, and make the world a brighter place. Now, one of the things I'm really good at, and I'm sure you are too, is figuring out all the ways something can go wrong. Whenever I'm starting something new, I tend to start catastrophizing before I've even properly begun. And I've worked out all the ways that I could potentially fail. And today I want to really flip this on its head and ask you what with whatever you're working on right now, whether you're starting something in the middle of something, or finishing something, or whatever problem you're trying to solve at the moment, what would success look like for you? Not other people's versions of success, not society's version of success, but what would your version of success look like right now? Because it is so easy to get sucked into the really dark rabbit hole of all the things that could potentially go wrong and have this really vivid idea of what failure looks like. But so rarely do we actually think, what would success look like to me. So that is the question that I want you to ponder for today.

Remember, your definition of success only has to make sense to you. If this is your first time thinking about your own definition of success, it may take a bit of a while to come up with what it is and really unpick what you think you want versus what you think you should want. But our definitions of success tend to be as unique as our fingerprints. So today, rather than thinking about what could go wrong and what failure would look like for you, have a think about what is your definition of success and what would that look like right now? Happy thinking and I can't wait to be back with you bright and early as always to tomorrow morning.
