Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers and a very happy Monday to you. So I thought we would kick off this week with a win. Now, I don't know about you, but I have a whole bunch of things that I want to do and and need to do that I remember intermittently and completely forget about. They're things that aren't necessarily going to ever feature on an important or an urgent to do list, but they're little things that will make life a little bit easier or just things we keep meaning to get around to. Now, one of mine is trying to make my phone a bit more minimal. Like many of us, I have a pretty complicated relationship with my phone. I wish I wasn't on it as much. I can definitely get lost down the vintage rabbit hole and me and Revenge Bedtime Procrastination have become pretty good friends.

So one of the ideas I've had is to just go through my phone and make it slightly more minimalist or maybe slightly less maximalist. I have tried all the screen limit things and I just turn them off or I snooze them. I've tried the screen limit timer thing and I just ignore it. I've tried uninstalling apps and I just download them again. I've tried quite a few things and none of them have worked. But one of the things I'm curious about that I have a feeling is really going to help is literally going through my phone, getting rid of apps I haven't used for ages, changing the background, changing the whole setup, and really just kind of resetting what I'm used to and some immediate habits. So that is one of the things that's been buzzing around in my head. It's never made it to a to do list.

Every time I think about doing it, I think, oh, that's a good idea and I get distracted or something else happens. But as I was sitting down thinking of ideas for today's episode, I remembered this was something I wanted to do. So literally just took ten minutes to go through all of my apps and just start deleting them and at least begin the process. And it felt good to start. It was pretty satisfying and it feels like a win for a Monday. So I've got a bit of a Choose Your Adventure quest for you today. If, like me, you've got a bit of a complicated relationship with your phone, I invite you to do something today that starts to change things a tiny bit. We are looking for small wins here and if you know you are someone who will really listen to the screen limits and you've never tried it out, maybe that can be your win for the day.

And the other option for our Choose Your Adventure quest is to simply do ten minutes of something that has been buzzing around your head that it would just feel really good to make a start on. Choose Something that isn't urgent, that's not going to send you down a massive rabbit hole, but is going to give you that bit of a dopamine kick. And it's just going to feel really good to even partially have that out of your brain. The smaller the better. But let's start this week off with a win and also a friendly reminder that your self worth is never, ever tied to what you do or don't get done. And lastly, if you are listening to this, and you have been getting lots of shit done lately and you're just tired, my quest for you is to have a little bit of a break if you're able to. So that's it for this Monday's Daily pep, I can't wait to see you back bright and early, as always, tomorrow morning. And remember that everything changes when you believe you matter. See you tomorrow.
