1359: Save some energy for you
Today we’re challenging the pressure to finish strong and advocating for a rebellious, compassionate approach to preserving some of that precious Friday energy.

Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Friday to you. As we start to wrap up this week, I encourage you to do whatever you can do today to save some energy for yourself. Why? Or not completely arbitrary. Sometimes we put so much pressure on the end of the week, like we have to prove something to ourselves. We put our self worth on the line. We compare what we actually got done with what we hoped we would get done. We find ourselves wanting and while we may not have all the energy left to do the tasks on a Friday, we spend a fair amount of our precious energy beating ourselves up. The thing is, we are often time optimists and generally as humans, we're pretty bad at estimating how long something is going to actually take.
So we often don't even consider the fact that we've done a good amount this week because we're comparing it to this idealised version of what we thought could happen that might not have ever existed. What I'm saying essentially comes down to this. How can you save some of that precious mental and I know this is going to be a bit cheesy, but I'm just going to go there anyway. But also some of your soul energy for you this weekend. What can you decide to just not do? What can you not even half ass but quarter ass? And can you draw a line under this week acknowledge what you have done and just test out saying a rebellious fuck it and save some energy for you? You are allowed to end the week while you leave something on the table for yourself. And if that sounds completely counterintuitive, then I invite you to lean into it even more and test it out. So here's to leaving some of you for you. Here's to using that for yourself this weekend.
