1508: You are one resilient motherf*cker
All too often we forget just how strong we are, especially in hard times. Here's a reminder I think we both need to hear today.

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. Now, our brains are capable of many fabulous things. It's fair to say that we do not struggle with coming up with ideas or finding fun things to try out. But our brains aren't necessarily the best at cheering us on. And they really aren't the best at reminding us of all the things that we have done and all the shit that we've got through. One of the things I find the most frustrating, and I know I'm definitely not alone in this, is that when hard times happen, I completely forget that I'm actually quite a resilient motherfucker. My brain goes into overtime times infinity. Of all the ways in that it might not work out or I can't do it.
And it is like I completely blank on all the times where my back was against the wall. And either I figured it out or it just worked out. I forget that I have had hard days. I have had hard times and I've got through them. We are very, very rarely prompted to think about just how much of a resilient motherfucker we actually are. So that is your invitation with today's daily pep. Now, you might look back and think that you could or should have done things different. And that is the power of hindsight.
And hindsight can be a real bitch. But also we can look back and trust that we were doing the best we could at the time with what we knew at the time. And if you look back at it through that lens, you've been through and survived and thrived after some really tough shit. And you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. If you've been around here a while, you'll have heard me say that we are often the most courageous when we feel the least courageous. And I think that is just something that just needs to be repeated all of the time. You have got your own back. You are one resilient motherfucker.
It is shit that we have to live in the world that we have to be so resilient. But you have so much evidence to rely on. So take your own inner strength with you as you go about your day to day and know that maybe you are a lot braver than you think you are. Have a good one and I'll see you tomorrow.
