Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So this week on the Daily Pep, we are diving into the theme of ebbs and flows and how to trust ourselves when we're in the down months. This week's theme is inspired and suggested by the fabulous Cody Cook Parrot. If you haven't come across their work, I think you're going to love them, and discovering their online world and everything they do was such a fabulous rabbit hole and great addition to my life. So I've put the link to their website in the show notes, and enjoy finding such a wonderful part of the internet. So when it comes to the ebbs and flows in life, whether that is going through just a season that feels relentless, or if you're self-employed going through the very nerve-wracking reality of fluctuating income, or whether you're finding that you have very fluctuating energy levels in this season of your life. Intellectually, we know that it is natural, it is part of life, and things are rarely, rarely linear. We know that in our heads, but sometimes it's hard to know that in our hearts.

And also sometimes that head knowledge just disappears when we most need it in the moment. It can be so fucking hard not to turn it into some kind of moral judgment against yourself, and it can be all too fucking easy to really create massive, massive melodramatic soap-style narratives about yourself. Before long, you are questioning your self-worth. Your inner dream-shitter is absolutely running the show, and you're taking any current signs of things feeling hard or things being out of sync as the prediction of your future downfall. We're going to dive more into the practical ways we can really hold ourselves during this time later this week, But for today's daily pep, just want to tell you and remind you that if you are in one of those seasons of the ebbs and flows of life where you are in that dip and everything is feeling uncertain, know that you're not doing anything wrong. Know that you haven't completely fucked up your life. That's something my dreamshitter loves to tell me. And know that this is temporary.

Often in my own life, when I find myself in one of the dips, it usually comes after doing something that I've really needed to do for myself that has risked uncertainty and has ultimately, if we're looking at kind of the trajectory of my life, been something that turned out really positive. But that initial aftermath, fuck, it did not feel or look positive at the time. I'm going to give you a bit of a spoiler as to what we're going to dive into this week because I want to leave you with something helpful that you can do today. So when you are in one of those down dips, remember that tending to your nervous system can be one of the most important things you can do. Try and look back at all the things that you have survived in your life and all of your brave moments, because there are many. And see how you can break things down a little bit and plan something to look forward to that you're gonna do regardless. You've got this. Do what you can to tune into that part of you that knows it will be okay, and let's send your dream chitter on holiday because they really don't need to be here for this.

So have a fabulous start to your week. Here's to giving yourself more grace than you think you're allowed to. And if you're curious about working with yourself rather than against yourself, my Rebel Archetype Assessment is a really, really good way of doing that with your own flavor. It's also really fun, and you can go check that out at therebelrousers.com/quiz. I'll see you tomorrow.
