Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Friday to you. So one of the things I know that we can struggle with around here is the changing of the seasons. Everything can feel a little bit wonky for a little bit of time, and if you're in the Northern Hemisphere where it's autumn and the evenings are getting darker quicker, I know a lot of us can struggle with that. So for today's daily pep and to wrap up this week, I have a bossy piece of homework for you, and that is to plan 3 things to look forward to this autumn/winter. Now to be clear, this isn't about spending a shitload of money. It does not have to be about doing anything fancy. It is simply leaning into the things that you really enjoy doing and giving yourself some hope on the horizon. For example, it could look like catching up with a friend who always really makes you laugh, who maybe you don't see that much of.

It could be taking a book that you're really excited to read to a cafe, or it could be a bit of a TV marathon and watching one of the TV shows or a film that you absolutely love. What I'm trying to say here is it doesn't have to be big, but it has to be something that you really look forward to. Because this time of year can feel a bit wonky, but if we get intentional about how we spend our time and how we lean into it, I think it can make quite the difference. So as you're going around your day today, have a think about something that you really enjoy doing. Is there, for example, a certain type of food that you've been always wanting to learn how to cook? Is it about having a gathering with friends that might not have met each other before And doing something low-key and cozy? Or does it look something like putting together an autumn bingo and getting really intentional about enjoying the little things that the season has to offer? So have a think. I want you to think about 3 things. I want you to commit to them as much as you can. I want dates in the diary.

This time of the year can feel a bit dark, but there is also a shitload of light. I hope your weekend gives you some unexpected joy, and I can't wait to be back with you bright and early here on the Daily Pep on Monday morning, or in your inbox if you're part of my email community, where I'm sharing the behind the scenes of my new chapter in Liverpool and some very exciting dreams that are emerging. And you can go join that for free by going to therebelrousers.com/letters or clicking the link in the show notes. Whether I see you back here on Monday or Sunday in your inbox, Have a good one, and remember that everything changes when you believe you matter.
