Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Tuesday to you. You're listening to the Daily Peppers, which is the home for creative, multi passionate, and rebellious women who just need a bit more pep in their step, inspiration and encouragement to keep going.
And a reminder that you're doing a pretty good fucking job just as you are. Now around here, I talk a lot about this idea of being a multi passionate person. The idea is that we are people with many different interests, many different hobbies, many different things that fascinating us and we're endlessly curious about. And if we were asked to specialize in one thing or narrow things down to just a singular focus, We would find it non impossible. There are many terms of being multi passionate that you may well as hit. that you may well have heard of. You've got this idea of being a renaissance person. You've got this idea of being a multi potential light. and the one we probably all know the best is being a jack of all trades. Now it is fair to say that being a jack of all trades It gets a bit of a bad rep. We have all heard that phrase, jack of all trades, master of none.
And it's typically used as a bit of a criticism, and we usually take it to mean somebody who's Okay at doing quite a lot of stuff, but not great at doing anything. And today, we are seriously flipping that on its head. because that, my friends, is absolute bullshit. Most of us have grown up with this thing that we need to pick one thing and be really, really good at that thing and focus really hard on that and pretty much to avoid being a jack of all trades at any cost. But the thing is that does not work for us. We are jack of all trades around here, and I'm pretty sure when we start to remove the layers shame, and the layers of questioning whether it's okay to be 1, we start to realize it is actually pretty fun. And, also, we probably couldn't be any other way. So today, I wanna speak to your inner dream chitter. and tell her that being a jack of our trades is actually a superpower. It doesn't mean that you're unable to pick something and focus, It doesn't mean that you're unable to finish anything, and it doesn't mean that you're flaky, and we're gonna dive more into that tomorrow. What it does mean is that you are someone with a massive variety of interests. You are someone who can creatively pull them all together and you have this perspective that nobody else has.
The fact that you're interested in lots of different things, It equips you with a completely different set of skills when it comes to problem solving, when it comes to anything creative. and when it comes to doing things to make the world a brighter place. So today, I want you to explore embrace seeing this idea of being a jack of all trades rather than resisting it, and rather than using it as a stick to beat yourself with. If we look back in history, the most interesting people doing interesting things are the ones who are the multi passionate. It's the ones that have these multiple interests, and above all, have this insatiable curiosity and this love of learning. And those are two things to feel proud of not ashamed about. So to my fellow, multi passionate, And if you're listening to this, you are 1. Let's just get that out of the way. Just remember that what you have is a superpower, not a weakness. no matter how other people see it. And the fact that people can't put you in a box, they will find it frustrating. but you, my darling, were not made to be put into a box.
