Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. You are listening to the Daily Pep, which is the only daily podcast for creative, fabulous, and unconventional women who wanna get out of their own way and get shit done. So this year, I chose the word experiment as my word of the year, and I am really diving into doing big experiments and small experiments. And this week, I'm doing a mini experiment that I'm really excited about, and I wanted to share it with you. Now around here, we tend to always be striving. We are always working hard. We are working towards something and it can be really hard to give ourselves a break. I'm a huge fan of working in one hundred day chunks as I've shared about before here on the daily prep.
And we take that a hundred day approach with my group coaching program, one woman band. And up until now, we've just gone kind of this straight a hundred days and just really gone for it with some pretty spectacular results. But the thing is one hundred days can feel like a really long time when you're constantly doing things. So this time, we're trialing having a pit stop in the middle. So right around the fifty day mark, we are pressing pause. We're having what I'm calling a reading week. So just a time to take a bit of a breather, do some reflection, just really look after ourselves, and gather the energy and momentum for the last fifty days. And that's exactly what I'm doing this week too.
I am pressing pause. I'm gonna be looking after myself and getting some energy and momentum back too, And I really invite you to join me. Now I'm more than aware that it is just not possible for us to leave behind all our responsibilities or put yourself out of the office for the week. It is often just not realistic. But we can have a week or two of not doing all the bonus things, doing the things that we absolutely have to do, and resting when we can. So this week on the daily pep, I'm taking the week off and I'm really excited to share with you some of my favorite episodes all about reframing how we see compassion, how we don't have to earn rest, and what we can do when we just can't be fucked. Because our time and our energy are two of our most precious resources, and we get to use them for ourselves as well. That is not selfish.
We do not need to earn it. And even though we may have great stamina, sometimes a bit of a self imposed break might be just what you need. So what would it look like this week to just do what you have to do? And when you can, do things that inspire you, that fill up your cup a bit, and light you up. That could look like anything that could be really silly things. I'm not talking about hugely meaningful things. Just things that get a bit of your mojo and your moxie back because goodness knows I think all of us could do with that right about now. So I invite you to join in on reading week. I'm so excited to be sharing with you this week some of my favorite strategies and reframes around rest and compassion and I am looking forward to coming back feeling really refreshed and ready to go.
So here's to reading week, here's to trying new things out, and here's to mini experiments and seeing where they take us.
