1108: Find The next question

Sometimes we can feel an enormous amount of pressure to have all of the answers to everything right now, so today’s episode is a permission slip to look inwards, and move onto the next question.

Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. So yesterday, we were chatting all about how easy it is to not tune into our own intuition or our own inner wisdom and automatically almost go into firefighting mode and look outside of ourselves. And I mean this for the little things as well. The times when you're starting something or finishing something scary and you pick up your phone and try to figure out the right way to do it or how other people are doing it before you look inwards. So I ended yesterday's daily pep all around how we often have the answers to our own questions. And today, I wanna add a bit of a caveat to that and just a permission slip that you do not need to know all the answers to everything right now. A lot of the times, what you need is the next question and take it from there and fall down the rabbit hole. Now for us recovering perfectionists, this feels mighty uncomfortable because we wanna do it right, and we want to do our best.

But often as eye roll worthy as this is, our best answers come from inside ourselves rather than outside ourselves. Often, looking outside of ourselves is what gets us stuck in research mode, And research mode can sometimes lead those of us who are perfectionists and questioners to stay in the research mode for much longer than we need to because it feels safe. We are also insatiably curious. So one answer leads to many, many more questions, and that can often feel more comfortable than doing the scary thing.

So for today's Daily Pep, I wanna pose this question to you. What if you don't actually need to know all the answers and you just need to know the next question? Knowing that there is no one right next question and just see what happens from there. My attitude as a coach has always been, you've got the answers, and I've got some helpful questions up my sleeve. So if you do want some helpful questions as we approach the halfway point to the year, I just wanted to do a quick shameless plug for my halfway Huddl workshop happening this Saturday and also my halfway Huddl stand alone workbook, which is full of really helpful questions to help you get a more accurate and more compassionate view of where you are, and it's also just full of really helpful questions to help you figure out what's important right now, what to let go of this year, and to help you create a flexible plan for the rest of the year, which feels enjoyable rather than another obligation.

You can find out more by going to therebelrousers.com/halfwayhuddle. I'd love to see you there on Saturday or support you through my workbook. But above all, here's to your own answers and knowing they are damn important!
