Sometimes the most counterintuitive things are the most helpful. Today I’m sharing something that’s been a big game changer for me!

Episode transcript:

Good morning daily Peppers and a very happy Tuesday to you. Before we kick off today's show, I wanted to let you know that my new course slash program, 100 days of Compassionate Productivity officially starts today. So if you've been meaning to join, now is the time. During the 100 days you'll learn and implement a kinder more sustainable and more effective approach to getting done working with your brain rather than against it. And it's a system that you can use over and over again that helps you to acknowledge your wins and inspire yourself. You can find out more by going to the rebel rousers.comforward/100 days. And that is 100 as in the numbers. And I've put the link below, and I would love to see you there.

Now on to today's show. So as you can imagine, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about compassionate productivity. And today I wanted to remind you of one of the key tenets of it that I think can never be overstated and that's the idea of taking imperfect action. It can be all too easy to fall into the trap of trying to find the exact right first step to take. We can get lost in the research which, let's face it, feels productive and sometimes is productive, but sometimes we just need to rip the band aid off. I have this saying that it's a bit harsh, but it's still true, which is imperfect action is much better than perfect inaction. And it is something that I have to remind myself of really regularly because the truth is in most scenarios, there is no one perfect right step. And the thing that will most get you out of your creative resistance is doing the thing.

And I am a huge fan of doing things in the easiest and simplest way possible and wherever possible start with the fun thing and eat the dessert first. So whatever you've been thinking about whatever you've been researching a lot of that you've been putting off starting, or that thing that you're desperate to get back to but it feels really scary, start anywhere. Do it imperfectly knowing that perfect is an illusion and see what happens. Chances are, yes, it may be really scary, but it might also be a lot more fun than you think. It might add a hell of a lot to your life, and I think future you will be really glad you started. So here's to taking imperfect action. Here's to being gloriously and imperfectly human. And here's to remembering however counterintuitive it sounds.

You can get a shitload more done with compassion than you can without it. I'll see you tomorrow bright and early for another episode of the daily pep and maybe I'll catch it tonight's workshop if you sign up to the 100 days of compassionate productivity. And the link to do that is in the show notes. Take care.
