1355: Let’s find ourselves some satisfaction

We’re kicking off this week with an area that’s often overlooked, and massively underestimated when it comes to building motivation.

Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So as creatives, as multi passionates, and as humans with a lot of shit to do, life can feel a little bit unfulfilling because there is always more shit that we want to do, there's always more shit that we have to do. And because we're so used to moving from one thing to the next, we rarely feel satisfied. So to kick off this week, I want you to think about one thing that would be really satisfying to get done. What is one thing that Friday you.

Would just feel really good about or just be happy to have off your plate? What is something that you keep looking at that needs to be done that would just be lovely if it was done and he didn't have to look at it anymore? Or what is a project that you're desperate to work on but you keep putting off because it's not the right time or you feel like you have to have hours. Whereas realistically, even thinking about it and brainstorming it for 10 minutes could feel really satisfying. That's the question I want you to ponder on today. Because for so many of us, we're getting so much shit done and we're working on so many things and we're expecting ourselves to be really self motivated, we're beating ourselves up and we don't get something done yet rarely do we give ourselves a chance to feel satisfied.

We just expect our motivation and our mojo to just always be there. Yeah, that's pretty hard if you're not leaning into the satisfaction or taking a minute to acknowledge the effort you put into the things that you have done. So often our effort is spread across so many different things and it can feel like we're getting nowhere. But you, my dear, you really are getting somewhere. So this week, my mission for you is to give yourself something you can be satisfied about. Maybe that is finishing off the last 2% of a project. Maybe like I alluded to earlier, that is doing the thing that you keep looking at and meaning to do. We often talk around here about exhaustion and just not feeling it and needing a bit more pep in our step. And intentionally seeking satisfaction can really help. So have a think. I hope you rise to this challenge and I hope this week provides you with lots of unexpected joy and satisfaction. I'll see you tomorrow.
