1515: We’re more than brains on sticks
Today’s episode is a loving reminder that our glorious brains come equipped with bodies, and that they need checking in on too.

Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Monday to you. So if you haven't noticed by now, I am a big fan of thinking. I love using my brain, I love thinking of ideas, I love learning, I'm curious, I'm pretty cerebral and I often forget that I'm not just a brain on a stick. I am really good at hyper focusing and also ignoring my body's needs. So to kick us off this week, I want us all to do a quick check in with our bodies because I know around here we are creative, we are multi passionate, we are curious. I'm not alone in loving using my brain and I feel like we could all do with checking in on our bodies so often. We start the week thinking about all the things that we have that we need to get done and we don't necessarily think about what our body needs and whether those things are even compatible in the first place. So I invite you to just steady yourself for a second, maybe take a nice couple of really deep breaths and just see how you feel in your body and see what your body needs this week.
I also want to acknowledge that many of us around here have chronic illnesses. So if you feel like you spend most of your life being really aware of what your body needs, I invite you instead to think about what could you do that would be really lovely for your body this week instead. So tune into yourself for a second, choose your own path and your own adventure. And here's to trying to listen and hear what your body is saying, even if that feels a bit weird and uncomfortable. Like many things, this is a muscle you can build and start in absolutely anywhere counts. I hope you and your body have a lovely day and I can't wait to be back with you again tomorrow.
