1125: On Mondays, we set intentions (+ a fun invite!)
Instead of starting Mondays feeling scattered and behind, let’s take a positive approach, and get our ducks and f*cks in a row.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers. And a very happy Monday to you. So doors have officially opened to my flagship boot coaching program, One Woman Band Club. And this week to celebrate the occasion, I thought I would share 5 different things that I have found so helpful when it comes to taking your dreams off the Sunday pile, showing up for yourself, getting out of your own way, and also what I call compassionate productivity. Now a lot of this stuff I talk about this week, we are gonna be doing live together happening tomorrow, which is Tuesday, 16th July. So if you fancy come to hang out and just giving it a try and come in and get some shit done, I'd love to see you there. You can find out more by going to therebelrousers.com/openday or check out the link in the show notes. So in 1 woman band club, we kick off on Monday by getting our ducks and fucks in a row.
We spend some time intention setting and really getting clear on what is important for that week. It is all too easy to start a Monday feeling like you are truly behind already and just taking a really scattered approach, which not only feels overwhelming, but isn't actually that effective either. And I think it also really ties into something we don't talk about enough, which is the fact that our weeks end up not feeling satisfying or fulfilling because we get to a Friday, and all we can see is what we haven't done, and life can feel like an endless to do list. So one of the things we do during our Monday kick start Huddle is we choose our 3 priorities for the week. Now this is not about doing the most impressive sounding things. It's also not about doing the biggest things. It's about doing the things that Friday you is gonna be so damn grateful that you did and things that you're just gonna feel really proud of if you get them done. It's not about writing down the things that you know that are gonna happen anyway unless they come with a lot of resistance and definitely add them.
But have a think about what would actually really help you. What would you be genuinely really grateful for your future self for doing? And it also really helps prioritize what is actually important. Sometimes that looks like really tangible things like saying no to events on our calendar or extra tasks that we've been asked to do or things that just aren't really that important. Or they can be really intangible things, like saying no to people crossing our boundaries, saying no to self doubt, and saying no to giving ourselves a hard time when we really need to give ourselves more grace. While that might sound really fluffy and intangible, I found that it is so helpful to give our brains something to focus on, and it can also help with the sneaky bastards that our dream shippers because we almost expect it and see it work rather than taking it as straightforward truth. So if you fancy doing that, live and action together, being cheered on by a fabulous group of women, and you really wanna try it out for yourself. We're gonna be doing a kick start huddle tomorrow at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM during their One Woman Band Open Day and I would love to see you there to meet you if we haven't met before and to do this live together. You can sign up by going to therebelrousers.com/openday.
You can have your camera on. You can have your camera off. You can participate as much or as little as you'd like. And I think you might be surprised by just how magical this is. So have a good one. Here's to spending a bit of time getting intentional and getting your ducks and fucks in a row. And, also, here's to saying no to things that don't honor you and questioning your automatic guesses. I'll see you back here bright and early as always tomorrow morning for the daily pep, and perhaps live on Zoom at 11:30.
