Episode transcript:

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Tuesday to you. So every once in a while here on the daily prep, I pop in with a reminder that I've shared before that I think we might all need to hear. So today I'm popping in with some encouragement to use your best notebooks, use your best pens, use the things you've been saving for that special occasion, light that special candle, start writing in that journal and know that where you are right now is good enough. So much of the time we save things because we feel like we need to be more ready or we have to have a good idea or we have to be in a better place. But I truly believe that these things are meant to be used. And I think in doing so, in a weird way, it can really help improve our confidence, because it's a way of saying to ourselves, you get to do that now. You don't have to be some new, improved version of yourself. You do not have to earn the thing.

And things don't have to be perfect to open the first page or to light the wick. What can be something we were previously excited about and was something that we absolutely loved can turn into a huge pile of pressure and it can represent so many things that it was never meant to. A beautiful notebook can turn into a reminder that we haven't written for a while and our dream shitter has a field day. So whatever you've been saving, have a think and see how you can use it today. I know so many of us fear wasting things and want to save things to the right moment, but maybe the real waste is it sat there for so long not being used when it could bring you so much joy and it could be the very thing that gets you into imperfect action so you know what you've got to do. And if this episode feels like the perfect excuse to buy a new notebook, I will not apologise for enabling you. Go treat yourself. I hope you find some unexpected joy today. I think it might very much be linked to using the thing. And I'll see you tomorrow.
