1533: You don't know what's right around the corner (in a good way!)
We're so used to seeing uncertainty as the big scary monster, but what if it's something delightfully unexpected?
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. So on The Daily Pep this week, we've been diving into ebbs and flows, and if you are in a bit of an ebb or a bit of a dip right now, this is especially for you. So today I want to pop in and remind you that in a really positive way, you don't know what is right around the corner. Many a time when we think all hope is lost, or we figure that we will just never find a solution, and we don't know how the fuck something is going to work out, something does work out just as we are losing hope. I am always frankly fucking amazed at how things can change for the better in a heartbeat. I know like many of us, I spend a lot of time in my head, and I often convince myself if I haven't thought of that solution, well then it must just not exist. And my goodness, I have been proved wrong so many times. Some of the stickiest, hardest, and messiest situations and problems I've come across Well, how it's worked out, I never ever could have imagined.
I don't mean that in some kind of Hollywood kind of way, but in a kind of, oh shit, I didn't see that coming, or oh yeah, I forgot that might even be an option. And I think that is something that we need to try to hold on to as much as we can during these seasons. Our brain is so good, especially with our built-in negativity bias, at finding all the ways something could go wrong, and we're so used to seeing uncertainty as this big monster, but sometimes uncertainty can work in our favour as well. I know we talked last week on the Daily Pep about how infuriating patience can be, and I still stand by that, but sometimes it is about that patience and also being curious about other outcomes that you might not have even thought of, and being open to things changing in a really good way. So keep holding on. I hope there are fucking fabulous things right around the corner for you. And remember, as always, that everything changes when you believe you matter. I'll see you tomorrow.

1532: Tend to your nervous system
Today I'm sharing some practical ways to tend to our nervous systems during hard times.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Wednesday and a very happy hump day to you. So this week on the Daily Pep, we are diving into the ebbs and flows and what to do when you find yourself in a dip. And today we're focusing on our nervous systems. And the reason why we're doing that is because when things are feeling shit and uncertain, our nervous systems become activated. It is hard to keep ourselves feeling calm. We go into fight, flight, freeze, fawn. And while tending to our nervous system can feel like the least urgent work to do in that moment because we wanna sort that fucker out and fix the situation itself. But tending to how we feel in the moment can actually be one of the most helpful things we can do because we make much, much better decisions from a place of hope rather than a place of panic.
And I know from a lot of experience that it is really challenging, but there are things you can do. One thing that can be really helpful is really grounding yourself in the ways that you are safe, and that may be literally listing out loud 5 ways that you are safe right now, and they can be as literal or intangible as you like. It also looks like taking extra effort to really do the basics, keep hydrated, look after your body, and try and get some rest. And it also looks like trying your best to remember that this is your dream-shitter's ultimate fantasy. More than likely, you might be in a bit of a vulnerable place, and that already loud voice can get a hell of a lot louder. It knows you are paying even more attention to it than normal. And the lies are insidious, and they are also bullshit. The things that might feel like a luxury in this moment really are not a luxury.
They're actually really fucking important. And remember, it can also be really uncomfortable and disconcerting tending to yourself in moments of panic. I know for me, my body is really familiar with going into panic stations and going off in a million directions, and that is very rarely actually helpful. But it is really unfamiliar to take a deep breath, look after myself, try and get my bearings, and try and bring some calmness to the situation. That feels really fucking uncomfortable, but often it is exactly what I need, and that gets me to clarity so much faster. What I'm trying to say is you are not on your own here. It is hard work being in the dip. It is hard work trying to figure out what to do.
It's hard work trying to tend to ourselves during that time, or even giving ourselves permission to. And if it feels hard, it may be that you're not doing anything wrong, and this is just a hard season. I know that doesn't necessarily make it any better, but one of the ways that we can help ourselves is by trying to stop piling on the shame of how we're dealing with the situation while we're going through it. So here's to tending to our nervous systems, here's to prioritizing things that might feel like a bit of a luxury, and here's to knowing that if doing something in a different way feels uncomfortable, that might just be because it's not familiar. Obviously, don't do anything that actively feels awful, Just know that sometimes choosing yourself and doing the best thing you can do for yourself in the moment sometimes doesn't feel like it, and it can just feel weird and odd. Happy hump day, my love. We are over halfway through the week. We've got this. We've got ourselves, and I'll see you tomorrow.

1530: Ebbs and flows of normal
If you’re in the dip of life where everything can feel uncertain, know that you’re not alone, you’re not doing anything wrong, and that today’s episode is for you.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So this week on the Daily Pep, we are diving into the theme of ebbs and flows and how to trust ourselves when we're in the down months. This week's theme is inspired and suggested by the fabulous Cody Cook Parrot. If you haven't come across their work, I think you're going to love them, and discovering their online world and everything they do was such a fabulous rabbit hole and great addition to my life. So I've put the link to their website in the show notes, and enjoy finding such a wonderful part of the internet. So when it comes to the ebbs and flows in life, whether that is going through just a season that feels relentless, or if you're self-employed going through the very nerve-wracking reality of fluctuating income, or whether you're finding that you have very fluctuating energy levels in this season of your life. Intellectually, we know that it is natural, it is part of life, and things are rarely, rarely linear. We know that in our heads, but sometimes it's hard to know that in our hearts.
And also sometimes that head knowledge just disappears when we most need it in the moment. It can be so fucking hard not to turn it into some kind of moral judgment against yourself, and it can be all too fucking easy to really create massive, massive melodramatic soap-style narratives about yourself. Before long, you are questioning your self-worth. Your inner dream-shitter is absolutely running the show, and you're taking any current signs of things feeling hard or things being out of sync as the prediction of your future downfall. We're going to dive more into the practical ways we can really hold ourselves during this time later this week, But for today's daily pep, just want to tell you and remind you that if you are in one of those seasons of the ebbs and flows of life where you are in that dip and everything is feeling uncertain, know that you're not doing anything wrong. Know that you haven't completely fucked up your life. That's something my dreamshitter loves to tell me. And know that this is temporary.
Often in my own life, when I find myself in one of the dips, it usually comes after doing something that I've really needed to do for myself that has risked uncertainty and has ultimately, if we're looking at kind of the trajectory of my life, been something that turned out really positive. But that initial aftermath, fuck, it did not feel or look positive at the time. I'm going to give you a bit of a spoiler as to what we're going to dive into this week because I want to leave you with something helpful that you can do today. So when you are in one of those down dips, remember that tending to your nervous system can be one of the most important things you can do. Try and look back at all the things that you have survived in your life and all of your brave moments, because there are many. And see how you can break things down a little bit and plan something to look forward to that you're gonna do regardless. You've got this. Do what you can to tune into that part of you that knows it will be okay, and let's send your dream chitter on holiday because they really don't need to be here for this.
So have a fabulous start to your week. Here's to giving yourself more grace than you think you're allowed to. And if you're curious about working with yourself rather than against yourself, my Rebel Archetype Assessment is a really, really good way of doing that with your own flavor. It's also really fun, and you can go check that out at therebelrousers.com/quiz. I'll see you tomorrow.

1529: Patience f*cking sucks
If you struggle with patience, this one's for you!
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Friday to you. So I'm popping in at the end of the week to remind you that some things just take time, and it might be that you are doing absolutely nothing wrong It is just a patience game. Now let me start by saying patience fucking sucks. For many of us around here, we really hate waiting, and in that gap between doing something and waiting to see the results, your inner dreamshitter can have an absolute fucking field day. It can set up camp and live there. But what we have to remember, and it is really hard, is that things might be taking longer for a million and 25 reasons that might not actually have anything to do with you. Now, I'm not saying that makes it any better. Planting seeds and not seeing them grow is really disheartening, especially as for many of us, enthusiasm and excitement is what really fuels us., and if we're not met with that, we can just feel really out of sorts and out of place.
So today I just want to interrupt your inner dreamshitter and remind you that it might be a timing thing, it may have nothing to do with you, and also you don't know what's coming around the corner. Sometimes things pan out better than you could have even imagined in your wildest dreams, And some things work out, but just in a really, really strange way that you couldn't have predicted anyway, no matter how many times you try to think up all of the scenarios. So keep going. You are doing so much better than you think you are. I know I say that a lot, but seriously, every single one of us tends to discredit what we actually do. And if you were to talk out loud with somebody everything you have done I think you'd be quite surprised. And here's to having the courage to continue planting seeds. See you on Sunday if you're part of my email community, and you can join by going to therebelrousers.com/letters.
If you're curious about working with yourself rather than against yourself and you haven't already found out what your rebel archetype is, the weekend is a great time to go down that rabbit hole, and you can do the assessment by going to therebelrousers.com/quiz, and it is a really fun one. And I can't wait to be back with you as always on Monday morning for a new episode of the Daily Pep. I'll see you then.

1528: Just set a timer
This one's for you if you find tiny decisions impossible, and you just need to get the thing done.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. So one of the things that I really hate is shoe shopping. I have size 9 feet, they are not easy to get boots for, and my feet are also wide, so So let's just say getting any boots that I like the look of is a task. So yesterday I put on a timer and I just said, right, by the end of the timer when it goes off, I will have bought some fucking boots. And I literally got down to the last couple of minutes and I returned to one of the very first pairs that I'd already bookmarked before I'd even put the timer on. After really going around the houses and finding some lovely boots, trying to find them in stock in my size, only to find out they didn't even do my size. Now, why am I ranting to you about shoes this morning? I'm sharing because I encourage you to just put a timer on and get that fucker that you don't want to do done. Or if you are deliberating on something or going around the houses like I was and you think you might end up with the first option anyway, maybe it's time to call it quits and just go for it.
We already have so many things that we have to do, but also so many things that we really want to do, that as much as possible, let's save our brain space for the stuff that lights us up, and let's spend as little time on the boring fuckers as possible. I don't know about you, but I am so good at spending so long on pretty insignificant decisions, and I barely ever think in hindsight it's a very good use of my time. So let's put a timer on, let's get the fuckers done, and reclaim some of that time and energy, the most precious things we have, for ourselves and things that we actually want to do. Here's to making decisions, here's to timers, And I'll see you tomorrow.

1527: Let's turn the paper upside down
Today we're getting our metaphorical scissors out and looking at things from different perspectives, inspired by my love of collage!
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Wednesday to you and a very happy hump day to you. We are over halfway through the week. So one of my own creative outlets is collage. There is something about cutting up bright colors and shapes and rearranging them on a page, that just makes me really happy. The bit that isn't necessarily my favorite is the gluing down stage, because suddenly it feels like ridiculously the stakes are high and I've got to make the right decision. And one of the things I often find can be really helpful is literally turning the page around and seeing where there are gaps, seeing what looks better where, and just seeing things from a different angle. And that is my invitation and encouragement for you today with whatever is kind of going around in your head, whatever problem you're trying to solve, or anything you've been noodling on where it feels like you're going around in circles or hitting a brick wall. Get curious about how you could do the kind of metaphorical turning the page around.
How could you come at it from a completely different angle? Now, that might look like asking somebody that you would never usually ask their opinion on, not necessarily because you're going to take their advice, but because it may solidify your way of thinking, or it might push you forward a little bit. It might look like reverse engineering the problem. It might look like taking some things away and adding them back in. Basically, what can you do to look at things a bit differently? If the situation was a collage, what are the main components, and how can you reorganize them? Now, this isn't about coming up with the perfect solution—that is very rarely a thing—but rather it's about inviting different interpretations to the table, even if all they do is validate what you were already thinking and show you that you were going in the right direction. So get your metaphorical scissors out, turn the page, and look for what you haven't been seeing, or try and hunt for a new perspective. This is where your curiosity and your creativity and problem-solving skills can really come in handy, so let's put them to good use. And if you haven't already found out your rebel archetype, That may also be a big part of the puzzle that could really help, and you can go find out yours by going to therebelrousers.com/quiz. It's a really quick, fun one, and it's also a great way of understanding yourself from a different lens.
Have a fabulous Wednesday. I'll see you tomorrow, and remember, as always, that everything changes when you believe you matter.

1525: Firm instructions for a rainy week
Here in the UK it's been raining for weeks on end, so today's episode is a bossy challenge to add some more light to your life!
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So I'm recording this from soggy, damp, wet, drizzly, and grey Bristol, and if you're in the UK Fucking hell, the weather has been just really, really grim lately. It has not stopped raining and it's just been looking quite bleak. So I want to kick off this week with very firm and very bossy instructions to find something that brings you some light, some joy, some sunshine, a bit of delight. Something to make this week a little bit brighter. It could look like treating yourself to something small. It could be returning to a book series that you absolutely love. It could be starting that craft project, or actually going through your Pinterest boards and picking a project and diving in.
Just choose something that will make the days feel a bit less gray. It might also look like using your best stuff. So use the candle that you've been saving, or that spice mix, or that tea blend that you usually save up. Sometimes the things that we save for special occasions need to be used during the rainy days to make the days feel a bit different, maybe to romanticize our lives a little bit., or to simply brighten your day up a bit. So those are my firm instructions for this week. There are definitely sunny days ahead of us. Keep hanging in there. Remember that your best is going to vary from day to day, and that you are worthy of your finest china and your best stuff.
Here's to adding some more joy into our days. Begging for some sun. And also, here's to just remembering that you're doing so much better than you think you are. I'll see you tomorrow.

1524: You can only extract so much
To wrap up this week on The Daily Pep we’re diving into pouring into yourself, and how that isn’t a fluffy, indulgent thing, but something that is absolutely and strictly necessary.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Friday to you. We have made it to the end of the week. The days are literally becoming longer. And as we enter into the weekend, I want to talk a bit about pouring into ourselves. So the whole idea of pouring into ourselves can sound like some ripe, fluffy bullshit. It can sound like really surface level self care. It can also feel like taking an entire weekend off from life and ignoring every single person and responsibility.
And it can often feel like something we simply do not have the time and energy to do. But today I'm here to remind you that you can literally only extract so much of yourself so much of the time. When we have to say no to things, we tell ourselves we're being a bitch. We might feel selfish, but sometimes we literally can't do the thing. And that absolutely sucks. There is some grief that comes with that, but also there is only so much of us to extract. And pouring into yourself does not have to look like pouring a bubble bath. It can be the uncomfortable work of looking a couple of weeks ahead and being as realistic and compassionate as possible about what actually can get done.
And it can very much look like putting your own oxygen mask on before somebody else's, but not necessarily for the primary aim of saving everybody else, but also for saving yourself. I speak for many of us around here that we never, ever feel like we're doing good enough and we think that we're lazy, and we tend to get caught up in all the things that we haven't done. And in that process, one of the things we can do is minimize just how much we are spent and how much we have extracted of ourselves. And instead we really cruelly double down on it and beat ourselves up for the sheer audacity of feeling exhausted. So, as uncomfortable and hard as it might be, here's to giving yourself back some of what you so easily give to other people. Here's to remembering that pouring into yourself does not have to be fluffy bullshit. And it is a very necessary part of the process, not a luxury. And here's to knowing that you might be feeling stretched, you might be feeling overwhelmed, you might be feeling stressed.
Not because you're not doing the things or you haven't done enough, but because you haven't stopped to look at just how much you're extracting from yourself. If you're in a particularly busy season, know that you don't need hours and hours or to escape to a cabin in the woods to pour into yourself. And you might be surprised by how much little things can make a big difference. Here's to finding a piece of you over the weekend, and I can't wait to be back with you for bright and early. Back here as always, on the daily Pep or in your inboxes if you are part of my lovely email community. And if you're curious about that, you can go join at therebelrousers.com/letters. And if you haven't already found out your rebel archetype, it can be a really helpful way of understanding yourself. And I know many of us like quizzes and assessments and archetypes around here and and you can go uncover whether you are a messy rebel, a joyful rebel, a gentle rebel, or an undercover rebel over at therebelrousers.com/quiz
Have a good one, and I can't wait to see you soon.

1523: You don’t have to
I learned the hard way that making the most out of every single thing can sometimes backfire, so today’s pep talk is a permission slip to not have to maximise everything.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. So I have a question for you. What if you are actually way more capable than you think you are? I don't know about you, but I've definitely got periods in my life where I look back at things I've done and think, who the fuck was she? Like, I can see that I had serious courage, but I can also almost guarantee you that I didn't feel that in the moment. I think one of the things we do around here, and there are so many reasons why we do it, is that we seriously tend to underestimate ourselves. And what we can do is we can look at past versions of ourselves and borrow some of that confidence and borrow some of that courage, because it is still in us, whether we think it is or not. With hindsight, as well as looking back and thinking of the things that I did and how brave they were, I also do feel like I didn't take as many risks as I could. And I can sometimes feel really frustrated that I just didn't give some things a go. And I was so convinced I would fail, whereas I actually think I might have flown.
The truth is that we very rarely know what will happen, but for many of us, we do know that we will probably regret it if we don't try, even though it's fucking scary in the moment. So this Thursday, I want you to think about how can you borrow some courage from your past self, and in what ways are you underestimating yourself right now? Again, for if you need to hear it, you are so much more competent than you think you are. And if you can borrow courage from somewhere, I think you will really surprise yourself. Have a good one. Remember, today is the last day for the early bird, for The Spark. So if you've been meaning to join, now is a fabulous time. And until the end of the day, be sure to use the promo code sparklebitch. 1522: Look for the signs of growth
Today we're looking for signs of spring, both literally and figuratively.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Wednesday to you. Happy Hump Day. And for this hump day, I've got a bit of a challenge and a game for you, and it is to spot the signs of spring.
Now, at the time of recording this, we are near enough halfway through winter, and there are definitely some very early signs of springs happening. But this is also relevant, metaphorically, for whenever you're listening to this, look for the signs of growth, look for the seeds that you've planted that are starting to germinate, and look for those little signs of hope. I know for many of us around here, our brains can get stuck in a bit of an overthinking loop. And sometimes a really good thing to do is to give our brain something to focus on our brains are naturally creative. We are excellent problem solvers. And giving yourself the challenge or the game of looking for the early signs of spring and looking for pieces of hope can sometimes help push the bullshit out and also just be a really nice thing to do for yourself.
So today, start noticing a little bit more and also let yourself have a bit of fun with it. I guarantee that you are growing so much more than you think you are, and also remember that so much growth happens under the surface that we can't see, but it absolutely doesn't mean it's not happening. Think of all the bulbs that are waiting to sprout. Just because we can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.
So here's to finding the seedlings here's to finding the hope here's to spotting growth, both in yourself and in nature and here's to being 20% kinder to yourself today. Have a good one, and I can't wait, as always, to be back with you tomorrow.

1520: Your flame is always there
Today we’re celebrating finally leaving another January behind, and tending to our spark.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So last week on the DailyPep, we were talking around getting your spark back. And for Friday's reprise, it was all about making your mark and how sometimes it feels like you're making your mark with a Sharpie and sometimes it's going to feel like making it with a really light pencil. And I think there is such a crossover there with your spark. Sometimes your creative life, your personal life, it will feel like it is roaring in a really good way and the flame will be really strong and other days it will be barely noticeable. And I think one of the most important things to remember is that this is actually really normal and is part of being a human. It's a part of going through the seasons both literally and internally. And even though I know it's not as easy as this, we would have such less of a hard time if we could give ourselves less of a hard time about it.
I know that's a bit meta. So as we kick off a new week and as we are finally out of January and as we're approaching late winter and some early signs of spring are arriving, I want to remind you that your flame is always there, even if it's on the lowest setting, and that it is never, ever selfish to tend to your own flame. And your spark may simply come back in a different way than maybe you expected. A bit like at this time of the year, we start noticing the signs for spring. Be curious in your own life of signs that your own spark is coming back. Remember that it is very rarely linear and that is part of the process. And sometimes a lot can come from small things. I know I've got this small pecan waffle pumpkin-y candle from Bath and Body Works.
It is small, but my goodness, if I light it for more than five minutes, it gives me a headache because it is that strong. So remember that small things can have a big impact. Your flame is always there, even if it is tiny. And if you have been curious about joining my latest program, the Spark, and you want to reconnect with yourself and your spark and come home to yourself without abandoning everybody you love, burning everything down and burning out. We get started tomorrow, so now is the time. You can find out more by going to therebelrousers.com/thespark and I would love to see you there. It's going to be really special. So here's to tending to your own flame and I'll see you tomorrow.

1518: Borrow courage from your past self
Often we don’t realise how capable we are, and we can massively underestimate ourselves. So for today’s Daily Pep we’re giving ourselves a boost!
And you can find out more by going to therebelrousers.com/thespark or clicking the link in the show notes.
I'll see you tomorrow. And remember that everything changes when you believe you matter.

1517: F*ck it, let's choose ourselves
For today's episode we're getting honest about all the sh*t we have to do, and reclaiming some of our own time and energy for ourselves.
Episode transcript:
Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Wednesday to you. Now, sometimes life just feels like one huge big fuck off size to do list. There is just so much shit that we need to get done. There are so many balls in the air, we are juggling so many plates and it can feel even more infuriating because the minute we've kind of dealt with one plate or one ball, it's like something magically and immediately grows back in its place. Now let's be honest, this is shitty on quite a few levels. One of the reasons it's quite shitty is because some people are great at making it look like it's all effortless. And we end up yet again thinking we're doing something wrong, which we're not. Also, the things that we actually want to do never make it anywhere near the top of our list.
And then we wonder why everything feels so frustrating and unsatisfying. And the third reason it's so shit. Well, there are many, many reasons, but we're just going to keep to three today is it's so fucking annoying. Yes, it's also really exhausting and also really unfair. I don't want to dismiss those things, but it's also just so fucking frustrating and it can make us so pissy and so angry. So for today's hump day, I say that we harness some of that frustration with a big hearty fuck it. And we admit that we're not going to get everything done and unless we choose ourselves, nobody else is going to. So fuck it.
Where can you actually do something you want to do? Now this isn't about kind of chucking every single commitment out of the window because for most of us we can't. But we also underestimate what a couple of no's can do and what some good hearty fuck its can do. Also, no shame here. Many of us easily lose quite a bit of time or time that could be otherwise spent to scrolling on social media. So perhaps as well as saying fuck it, we say a bit of a rebellious fuck you to all these platforms who are doing everything to get our attention and do everything in their power to make us glued to our damn phones. So here's to making your creative projects the things that you want to work on, the things that light you up. Here's to saying fuck it and making them the main course or a really hearty sandwich rather than the tiniest piece of chocolate that you eat at the very end of the day. Yes, that can be wonderful and yes, we can really savour it.
But and to completely mix metaphors, your own stuff gets to take centre stage as well and that is absolutely the inspiration between my latest program the Spark because our work matters, our dreams aren't frivolous and we also deserve to feel at home in our own lives and we don't have to burn everything to the ground and we don't have to take an Eat Pray Love style trips to get there. If you're curious, head over to therebelrousers.com/thespark and if nothing else I think what's there might give you some inspiration to reclaim some of your own time and fabulous energy. So here's to not being alone in the fact that life is overwhelming and we all have way too much shit to do. Here's to knowing that you are doing nothing wrong and here's to saying a rebellious fuck it and taking up space in your own life. You can do it. It might be scary but it is so fucking essential. I'll see you tomorrow.

1515: We’re more than brains on sticks
Today’s episode is a loving reminder that our glorious brains come equipped with bodies, and that they need checking in on too.
Episode transcript:
Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Monday to you. So if you haven't noticed by now, I am a big fan of thinking. I love using my brain, I love thinking of ideas, I love learning, I'm curious, I'm pretty cerebral and I often forget that I'm not just a brain on a stick. I am really good at hyper focusing and also ignoring my body's needs. So to kick us off this week, I want us all to do a quick check in with our bodies because I know around here we are creative, we are multi passionate, we are curious. I'm not alone in loving using my brain and I feel like we could all do with checking in on our bodies so often. We start the week thinking about all the things that we have that we need to get done and we don't necessarily think about what our body needs and whether those things are even compatible in the first place. So I invite you to just steady yourself for a second, maybe take a nice couple of really deep breaths and just see how you feel in your body and see what your body needs this week.
I also want to acknowledge that many of us around here have chronic illnesses. So if you feel like you spend most of your life being really aware of what your body needs, I invite you instead to think about what could you do that would be really lovely for your body this week instead. So tune into yourself for a second, choose your own path and your own adventure. And here's to trying to listen and hear what your body is saying, even if that feels a bit weird and uncomfortable. Like many things, this is a muscle you can build and start in absolutely anywhere counts. I hope you and your body have a lovely day and I can't wait to be back with you again tomorrow.

1514: What if it’s not about you?
Around here we tend to beat ourselves up a lot and find all the faults within ourselves. Today I'm sharing a powerful question that might help you look at things more fairly.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Friday to you. And to wrap up this week on the Daily Pep, Sassy Meg is here. So there's been something I've been thinking about a lot lately and I have a feeling that a lot of us have too. And I want to share a reminder that might just be the thing you need to hear today. And it is this. Other people's perspectives of you, other people's judgments. The way some people question and try to invalidate your dreams says so much more about them than than it ever does about you in the moment. It can be so hard to remember that they may be simply projecting their own shit onto you and it's actually nothing about you.
Maybe there's something about what you're going to do or what you're planning that is holding up a mirror to a part of their lives that maybe they don't want to see. And it comes out as a bit of a criticism towards yourself when it is all about them. Now this is not me saying that that's okay. It is really shitty to be on the receiving end of that. And usually we tend to go internal pretty quickly and try and find all the ways that they are right or they're not right. And we tend to end up using it as something else to beat ourselves with. But what if it actually isn't a reflection on you, it's not a judgment on your character, but it says more about what's going on in their life and maybe what they're dealing with or not dealing with. Many of us are multi passionates, we're creatives, we are highly sensitive, we are empaths.
Some of us are neurospicy and we are used to being the square peg in the round hole. And we are very used to maybe struggling with our confidence or thinking that there's something wrong with us. But my dear, there is absolutely not. And I think this can be a really helpful reframe to see what else could be going on and take a pause before our dream chitter takes it and runs with it. So that is a question I invite you to take with you into your life and ask yourself in a really positive way, what if it isn't about you and what if it was never about you and it is simply somebody projecting their own shit. So that's a wrap for this week. I can't wait to be back with you next week. And I look forward to being in your lovely ears on Monday for the daily pep or in your inbox on Sunday if you're part of my fabulous email community and you can find out more about that and join by going to the rebelrousers.com letters and the link is in the show notes.
Have a good one. Try and be even 20% kinder to yourself and remember as always, that everything changes when you believe you matter.

1511: Have a whatever the f*ck you need day
Today, inspired by many fabulous international days, we’re leaning into creating our own rituals, embracing the silliness as well as making it up as we go along.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily peppers, and a very happy Wednesday to you. So sometimes, as I'm sure you can imagine, I draw a bit of a blank on what to share for our daily pepper of the day. And I head on over and see what international days it is on the days that I'm recording. Now, I don't find that particularly helpful and I'm going to tell you why, but I think we can turn this around and create it into a rebellious thing that we can do for ourselves. So I did a quick Google and I found a website that tells you what national days it is.
So today, 21st January, are you ready for is National Cheesy Socks Day? Is National Hugging Day. Museum Selfie Day. International Play Date Day. National Squirrel Appreciation Day. International Sweatpants Day. National Granola Bar Day. National Bakers Crafters Makers Day. It is also one liners Day. And thank your mentor Day. And yes, just to confirm, that is all for today, January 21st. Now what I'm taking from this is that it is a have whatever the fuck it is you need day.
We get to create our own rituals, we get to have our own days for things and we can essentially make shit up as we go. Now, I have no idea how many of those national days are actual things. I'm not trying to shit on them, but instead I'm trying to use it as some inspiration for us to add some silliness to our lives and also to give ourselves what we need. So Happy Wednesday. Happy Hump Day. We are over halfway through the week and whatever day you choose to celebrate today, I hope you find some joy. I'll see you tomorrow.

1510: Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint
We’re firmly in the weeds of January, so today’s episode is an important reminder to give yourself credit for what you’re already doing.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So, surprise, surprise, we are still in January, and it is also a Monday. We are firmly in the weeds, and I'm here to remind you that you've already done more than you think you have. As I speak to my wonderful coaching clients and as I look around me to my peers and my loved ones, I'm amazed at how much we're already kicking ass this year. And I don't just mean, like, the tangible things that we're doing, but the fact that we continue to show up. I think we all collectively agreed that last year was a fucker of a year, and. And times that by five for the last five years. And we are tired, we are frustrated, we are overwhelmed, and we are exhausted, but we keep fucking showing up.
Yes, our best will look different on different days, and that is perfectly acceptable. But nothing can quite dim the fire that we have inside us, and I think that's a massive win. So whatever this week has to throw at you, give yourself credit for what you're already doing. No, you might not be exactly where you want to be, but my goodness, you are on the path. You've taken more steps than you think you have. And one of the problems about kind of wading through the weeds is that we can't actually see that we've made some serious progress until we're out of the weeds. So have faith, hang in there, keep doing your thing. Know that your best will fluctuate.
That is normal. And know that if you really aren't feeling January. I think January is a bit of a fake month in the first place. I think it's more of a practice month. So give yourself grace, give yourself some time, and know that this is absolutely a marathon, not a sprint. Happy Monday. I hope something unexpectedly delightful head to your way this week, and I'll be back with you tomorrow. See you then.

1509: Looking after our animal selves
Today we're taking inspiration from the furry friends in our lives, and wrapping up this week with some much needed reminders!
Episode transcript:
Good morning Daily Peppers and a very happy Friday to you. So if you are listening to this, chances are you are trying to build a life you love and live your best life. I've never hugely loved that term, but. But also I can't really think of anything that quite gets to it either. Now, when it comes to living our best lives and building the life we love, we can find so much inspiration around us and I think some of it can be under our noses completely. And I am thinking about our furry friends, whether that is our own pets or whether that's birds that we can see outside the window. Now, I have always thought there is a fuck ton we can learn from them. For a start, they don't negotiate with their basic needs.
They don't put off having a wee because they've got two more emails to send. They also don't give a shit about comparison. If you think of birds tweeting and saying goodnight to each other, you haven't got some that are silent because they don't think their tweets are quite in tune. They sleep for as much time as they need to, which I know is a luxury for many of us, but I know I can learn a lot from them when it comes to revenge, bedtime, procrastination, which I'm pretty sure they don't do, and also the ability to be in the moment. We humans live in a complicated ass world and so often we forget that we too are animals. And some of it comes down to the simple things. And humans have made a lot of life way too complex. And we've got this wonderful skill of overthinking everything.
So if you're feeling overwhelmed, if you need a reminder to tend to your basic needs, or if you need permission to just play a bit more and live in the moment, this is it. So cheers to all of our furry friends, past, present and future. May we love them, may we learn from them, and may we remember that we are soft animals too, deserving of the love we so easily give them. Have a fabulous weekend. I can't wait to be back with you in your inbox. If you are part of my email community and you can find out more and get in on that by going to the rebelrousers.com letters or back in your lovely ears on Monday. And in the meantime, as always, remember that everything changes when you believe you matter.

1508: You are one resilient motherf*cker
All too often we forget just how strong we are, especially in hard times. Here's a reminder I think we both need to hear today.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Thursday to you. Now, our brains are capable of many fabulous things. It's fair to say that we do not struggle with coming up with ideas or finding fun things to try out. But our brains aren't necessarily the best at cheering us on. And they really aren't the best at reminding us of all the things that we have done and all the shit that we've got through. One of the things I find the most frustrating, and I know I'm definitely not alone in this, is that when hard times happen, I completely forget that I'm actually quite a resilient motherfucker. My brain goes into overtime times infinity. Of all the ways in that it might not work out or I can't do it.
And it is like I completely blank on all the times where my back was against the wall. And either I figured it out or it just worked out. I forget that I have had hard days. I have had hard times and I've got through them. We are very, very rarely prompted to think about just how much of a resilient motherfucker we actually are. So that is your invitation with today's daily pep. Now, you might look back and think that you could or should have done things different. And that is the power of hindsight.
And hindsight can be a real bitch. But also we can look back and trust that we were doing the best we could at the time with what we knew at the time. And if you look back at it through that lens, you've been through and survived and thrived after some really tough shit. And you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. If you've been around here a while, you'll have heard me say that we are often the most courageous when we feel the least courageous. And I think that is just something that just needs to be repeated all of the time. You have got your own back. You are one resilient motherfucker.
It is shit that we have to live in the world that we have to be so resilient. But you have so much evidence to rely on. So take your own inner strength with you as you go about your day to day and know that maybe you are a lot braver than you think you are. Have a good one and I'll see you tomorrow.

We're great at using our imaginations to use the worst case scenarios, so today I'm invent you to use it for good.
Episode transcript:
Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Wednesday to you. It is Hump Day. We are in the 31,000 days of January, and I wanted to pop in with some inspiration that I feel you might need. Many of us are creative. We are also overthinkers. And sometimes we use our excellent problem solving skills to try and imagine every possible outcome. And I think many of us have had many a fabulous project idea gone to die, or never to see the page or whatever our metaphorical page would be, because we thought of all the different ways that it could go wrong. Like I imagine all of us.
I have had many nights that I've not slept because I'm mulling over a problem that I just can't seem to find the solution for, even though I look at it from every single angle. And often what ends up happening is something completely unexpected or. Or an option I hadn't even considered pops up or turns up or becomes obvious. And there is another path completely. So today's episode is about holding onto the hope and holding on to the faith that things may work out in the least expected way possible, but also in the best way possible. And this episode is also a rallying cry from for using our creativity for good. We spend so much time thinking about all the different ways things can go wrong and we have a hell of a good imagination. And we can also use that for the flip side too.
You might not have the answer, and you might not know the answer, but it might just come to you in the most unexpected form imaginable. And if we have the capacity to imagine the shittiest of shitty things, then maybe we can make a bit of space to imagine that as well. Happy Wednesday. Happy Hump Day. You've got this. See you tomorrow.
